Getting Started
Always read through the pattern directions in a step-by-step order before cutting fabrics. Select 100% cotton when possible for your project. Pre-wash fabrics in warm water with a mild detergent; dry on a warm setting and press with a hot, dry iron.
Cutting Your Fabric
All strips are cut width of fabric (42”) unless otherwise specified. After pressing the fabric, fold it in half, selvedges together. Line up the ruler with the folded edge of the fabric and use the rotary cutter to cut a straight edge. Referring to the quilt pattern, cut strips to the required width and then cut strips as needed to create the designated size pieces. Consult a book on rotary cutting or take a class at your local quilt shop for help in cutting out your quilt. Use sharp scissors for cutting template pieces.
