Simple Quilts & Sewing – Winter 2012

If you’re like us, you love to be creative, and sometimes you only have time to make a quick project or gift. That’s why we not only picked easy quilts for you to make, but many smaller projects for your home, your family, and your friends. And if you are like many quilters and sewists, most of what you make is given away. Right? Why not make something for yourself this time? You deserve it!

Maybe you would like a new quilt for your bedroom or a throw to wrap up in while watching television or reading in the family room. There are lots of great quilts to choose from. This issue is also stuffed full of quick-to-make gifts for the holidays, accessories for decorating, and fun projects to make for kids.

We know you have busy lives and creative time is scarce. Try this—give yourself ten minutes at a time to sew. Sit down at your sewing machine while dinner is cooking, or wake up early and take a few minutes for yourself in the morning before the rush begins. Remember, a little sewing at a time is better than none at all!

Happy stitching!

Are you kidding me!!! This issue is AWESOME! Am planning on making the “car cozy” for 2 grand nephews for Christmas. The “clam bake” is another winner. Actually I don’t really know where to begin. Thank you for a wonderful issue.

I’m desperate to locate a shop that sells the Whirlybird fabric! All I seem to find is the navy helicopter print. I want these exact fabrics. My husband flies a helicopter and this is a perfect little boys quilt. Thanks for any help.

Wow, I love this magazine. I made the casserole to go for Christmas presents and they were a hit! I have requests for more and I haven’t had time to make myself one yet. They really like the serving spoon idea because you either forget to bring one or get it back home.

Can’t wait to have time to make the owls and some of the quilts.

My questions is can I purchase back issues?

Is Simple Quilts & Sewing available for iPad or ebook readers? Thought I would hate that format for craft/quilting books and mags, but turns out that I love it! Don’t go anywhere or do anything without my iPad! Please consider making it available…it speaks to the more “modern” quilter, I think.
