QUILT – Oct/Nov 2011

Dear Friends,

Every autumn, as kids, we would rake a big pile of leaves and jump in them. You know the great thing about being a grandmother…I still play in the leaves! When I first saw the batik leaf quilt, Falling Leaves, I knew the designer had captured that childhood memory many of us share. It’s a perfect leaf pattern and fun to sew too!

In this special issue, there are many cozy lap-size quilts to ward off the chill of shorter autumn evenings. Stitch a scrap pumpkin quilt with a very cool dancing design and a smiling Trick-or-Treat Tote. In anticipation of all the tasty harvest stews and casseroles coming up, you can also sew a fall table setting or make a quick carrier to transport a warm Thanksgiving dish.

Be inspired by the ideas from our profiled designers and learn from the long arm machine experts on how to pick a quilting design for your completed quilt top. Altogether there are 22 great patterns that are clever, colorful and cozy! Here’s hoping you’ll find some quiet moments to enjoy this issue overflowing with projects for the season!

I would like to know if you offer a kit for Falling Leaves quilt found in oct/nov issue. If not, how can I find a kit?
