QUILT – August/September 2012

Dear friends,

Sitting on the porch the other evening, the sunset was gorgeous. Often my husband and I will call out to each other, “Hurry, come quick and see the sunset” as if it is the very first or last one we will ever see!

I was reminded the other day of that same type of delight from a brand new quilter. She was beyond happy to find a hidden talent that had been just waiting to appear. The thrill does not grow old—with each completed quilt I’ve experienced it all over again … oh, the wonder of it all!

How fortunate I am to be able to gather projects for my readers and present them to you in QUILT Magazine. This summer issue is filled with everything from small sewing projects to full-size bed quilts. Keeping in mind the season of outside activities, there’s a beach roll throw and a garden apron  with canvas trug. Is your stash of fabrics piling up? We have a fun cat and mouse and a blue and white hourglass quilt, and both are great patterns to use up your small scraps of fabrics.

I look forward to you viewing the pages of this August/September issue; there is so much more for you to see inside. And I hope you’ll always be energized with the same feelings of that brand new quilter and find one of your best delights in life is in the love of quilting!

I have lost my Jan 2013 issue and there is something I want to make in it. How do I get another copy, or at least my pattern?
