Quick Quilts, Issue #114 – Summer 2010

I admit to wandering through quilt shops, my fingers trailing along the bolts of fabric. Even if I don’t buy anything, I’m simply content to be surrounded by more colorful prints than I could use in a lifetime for projects like quilts, table runners, and children’s clothes!  But this same inspiration can also be overwhelming. It’s hard to choose what to make when so many ideas are calling out to you!

We can help make your decisions easier. In this issue, we’ve collected 19 of the summer’s best projects shown in a beach setting (Tybee Island, Georgia). You’ll find quilts, wall hangings, home décor ideas and fun accessories, all in fantastic new fabric lines. Since they’re all quick projects, you’ll have time to make a few!

Try out our tips for perfect triangle piecing with the Modern Sweets bed quilt or the more masculine-looking Pyramids Tell A Story. Save time with the speedy technique in Woven Stars and continue the theme with the American Glory pillow. And finally, don’t miss our fun and easy sewing projects: roll-up placemats, can cozies and napkins for a summertime picnic, a simple drawstring beach backpack, and watermelon pincushions that look good enough to eat!

Happy Quilting!
