Quick Quilts, Issue #102 – Summer 2009

Summer brings beautiful sunny days under a blue sky that seems to go on forever. I love how the sun’s rays make everything brighter—green grass, flower beds in full bloom, and even the t-shirts and shorts of neighborhood kids playing kickball. The projects in this issue capture the season’s colorful exuberance in ways that you’ll love.

Turn the pages to see projects sewn with bold, contemporary prints, more traditional floral motifs, and everything in between. Looking to update a bedroom? Try the refreshingly cool shades of Balmy Island Breezes or the bold pop of Blooming Stripes. Flower lovers, make a quilt that will bloom in your home long after summer’s beauties have faded with two appliqué projects, Summertime Memories and Grow a Colorful Garden, or a quick pieced wall hanging, Nature’s Gentle Whisper.

If you’re looking for some sweet children’s projects, try the Sweet Dreamer wall hanging and the Stars & Ships tic-tac-toe play mat. Finally, don’t miss our cool tote, adorned with a paper-pieced fish block. It’s perfect to take to the beach or the park!

So, sit down with a tall glass of lemonade and enjoy the best summer has to offer, both outdoors and in this issue of Quick Quilts!

In my issue of Quick Quilts, Summer 2009, on page 53 it states to find directions for additional flowers and fabric vase at quiltmag.com. I am unable to find those directions. Could you please help. Thank you, Rosemary Abissi

    Sandy,

Unfortunately, in our family of QUILT Magazines, the only magazine that is available for subscription is QUILT. Quick Quilts and Quick Almanac are available at your local shops or newsstands. They can also be ordered directly from our website by clicking on the “Order” page at the top of the home page.

    Keep Quilting!
