Contributing Designer: Leigh Headington, The Sweet Tea Girls Patterns

I purchased my first quilt book in the late 70’s and dreamed of the day when I had time to make one of those lovely creations for my own family. It was not until 2001 that I found time to pursue that dream and have been hooked ever since. When I retired from IBM in 2004, I got involved in a quilting group that encouraged (or should I say demanded) thinking outside the box; I quickly found that I loved designing. My background in mathematics and mechanical engineering were a great foundation for playing with designs and are probably the reason I prefer the balance of symmetrical patterns. My style of design is very eclectic – I love fun quilts just as much as I do more traditional patterns. Designing quilts enables me to express myself uniquely and provides a wonderful outlet for creative thinking. www.thesweetteagirls.com
