Patchwork Quilting
Issue #78
Patchwork is easy, really it is! That’s why so many people like to do it. All you need is
some fabric, a sewing machine and a set of cutting tools and you are ready to make a quilt. In
this issue we have a simplified "Wedding Ring" quilt stitched in sparkling, jewel-tone colors.
With the curved rings all in one piece you can zip through the blocks at a speedy pace. Before
you know it you will have a finished quilt to enjoy yourself or to use as a gift for someone special.
The appeal of an old-fashioned scrap quilt is a favorite of quilters everywhere. Deb Hearn, a
new editor on our staff, has made a handsome example with her "Bluestone Walkway," a reproduction
fabric line she designed. You can make this quilt easily from your own stash.
Did you learn to read with "Dick and Jane"? How about a great kid's quilt with the new fabric
in this theme. It goes together in a snap and will delight any youngster learning to read while
bringing back memories for Grandma to share.
When you are on the Internet you really must visit our website, www.quiltmag.com.
We have project sheets with instructions to make quilts and other sewing accents for you and your home.
There is no end to all the things you can make and we are here to help you do it.
