Country Quilts
Issue #31
Quilts live most happily in the home. They bring color, warmth and texture to any décor. Whether
they are old or new, vintage or contemporary quilts are all about love and caring
Are you fortunate enough to have a collection of quilts? Be they old or new, we encourage you to
try new ways to display your quilts. We have come up with ten ideas for you to try using quilts in just
about every room in your house. Check them out to see which ones work for you.
There are certain vintage quilts that have been both well loved and well used from one generation to
the next. These are the patterns we see again and again. They look wonderful
in any color combination.
The Lone Star, Log Cabin, Grandmother’s Fan can be found in almost any attic holds treasured quilts
from generations past.
These wonderful patterns are just as popular with today’s quilters. They take the stars, the strips,
and the curved pieces and craft them into new quilts using modern colors. The quilts are the same,
yet somehow different telling a story of our own lives instead of days gone by. Stars remain popular
and we have two delightful new star quilts to keep you warm this winter. And, Leslee Evans has you
star gazing with the bears when you make her delightful winter quilt.
With so many quilts to make and only so much space to give directions, we are adding patterns for the
antique Log Cabin and the House quilt to our website: Look for the “Make This Quilt!” label then go to:
www.quiltmag.com/web-bonus.php. If you don’t have a computer visit the
computer lab at your public library… ask for assistance if you need it and enjoy the wonderful world
of quilting online.
