... stitching fun with appliqué artistry

[IMAGE] Appliqué is a wonderful way to create pictures and memories with fabric and thread. There is no limit to the imagination. If you can imagine it, you can stitch it. Ideas come from everywhere and they are just waiting to become a beautiful quilt that you can make.

The projects come in all sizes, from the tiny bird picture (page 16) to a classic bed size quilts with Sunbonnet Sue (page 32) and the oversize heart quilt (page 36). There are "in between" projects with fun and easy techniques like the Butterflies using freezer paper appliqué (page 28) and a charming needle felting basket of flowers (page 20).

Lots of appliqué quilters love to make anything by the "Piece O' Cake" design team, Linda Jenkins and Becky Goldsmith. Their newest book, Covered With Love, is all about kids (page 10). There are dozens of fun projects and they have shared patterns for a pair of pillowcases with us.
