Quilt Visions: Off the Wall Program

February 5, 2010 - April 18, 2010

California Fibers: Liminal Spaces An exhibition of new quilted, sculptural and woven pieces by members of this prestigious, juried group of Southern California fiber artists.

Quilt Visions, San Diego’s premiere fiber arts organization, launches their third season of exhibitions by adding a component that will ensure an increased appreciation and understanding of fiber arts. In addition to presenting work in the gallery setting, Quilt Visions will be launching Off the Wall, a series of lectures, demonstrations and workshops tied to each exhibition that help engage visitors in the art making process. Each upcoming show will have an educational component that will help promote the appreciation of quilts as art.

In year three, they continue to present extraordinary work and remain dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of quilt as art.  The organization has an exciting series of juried and traveling exhibitions and activities planned for 2009 in their 3,000 foot space at NTC Promenade, Liberty Station.

Visions Art Quilt Gallery is a non-profit, member supported organization dedicated to the promotion and appreciation of the quilt as art.  Contemporary Art Quilts are now being recognized around the world as exciting visual art.  This is the first facility like this anywhere in the U.S., and the gallery itself is a unique space designed by architect, artist, and quilter Bob Leathers.
