Complementary Pelican

by Roberta C. Lagomarisni

Bishop, California
USA

Techniques:
Fused applique, Free-motion quilted

Artist Statement:

I took at class at Road to California from Rob Appel to learn how to fuse applique. His patterns are to raise money to help endangered animals. However, I was taking another class in color and you had to select a color scheme to work with. I chose the complementary colors of purple and yellow. I decided to stay true to my color class and changed the colors in this quilt. My friends laugh at me with this quilt because although I often use purple, I never use yellow! I am learning how to now.”
