Clovis Bounty

by Diane E. Goff

Oakland, California
USA

Techniques:
Machine pieced, machine quilted, machine embroidered

Artist Statement:

I sought to capture childhood memories growing up on a ranch in Clovis, California. I wanted to show the disappearance of the small independent farm. My grandfather was born in the San Joaquin Valley and inherited and farmed the land of his father. Everything he grew during his 90 plus years thrived. In my opinion, the taste of those Elberta peaches he cultivated has never been rivaled. For years I have been longing to revisit that childhood experience through the making of a quilt.”

My husband grew up in Clovis, CA, so this was very interesting to me.
