Beside the Still Waters

by Pat Durbin

Eureka, California
USA

Techniques:
Pieced, thread-painted, painted, machine quilted

Artist Statement:

As I stand beside the waters and smell the salt air, I soak up the peace. The Lord does restore my soul. As you look across the lagoon you see a natural sand spit with the Pacific in the distance. The inspiration for this quilt was a photo taken by my husband, Gary. I asked that he try to get the whole scope of Stone Lagoon in the shot. This is a location where my family boated and I water skied when I was young. Lots of memories of good times are stitched into this quilt.”
