Memories Too
by Giny W. Dixon
Danville, CaliforniaUSA

Techniques:
Machine pieced, free-motion machine quilted, hand embroidered
Artist Statement:
“As a Californian, I have always loved our coast. My hand-dyed green and blue fabrics represent the ocean. Hand embroidery depicts water marks and erosion on stone tiles. Memories of growing up by the beach prompted me to use seaweed images for the machine quilting. Family damask tablecloths, linen sheets, and commercial fabrics were used for the sandy background.”
