Balance is Good for You!

by Sheri Nemerson

Escondido, California
USA

Techniques:

Machine and hand appliquéd, pieced, embroidered, beaded, hand quilted, fused, painted, folded fabric

Design Source:

A friend lent me a book entitled, Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life, by Karen Rauch. This book, explaining the principles of Feng Shui, was the inspiration for the quilt.

Artist Statement:

“Feng Shui teaches us to organize the five elements of water, wood, fire, earth and metal as a way to move the chi or energy. By organizing our surroundings we make conscious choices about what we allow to impact our life. We create balance rather than clutter, and let go of all thoughts and details that bring negative thinking and drain our energy.
