Icing on the Cake

by Linda Roy of Knoxville, Tennessee

Artist Statement:

The background quilting is very simple, allowing quilted feathers with embroidery on top, to create the illusion of an antique wool coverlet. Simple appliqué is support for the feathers. Variegated perle cotton helps make the colors interesting. The design disappears with embroidery.”

Winner: Second Prize in Mixed Technique

Award sponsored by Robert Kaufman Co.
