Through the Window

I am a retired nurse living in Oklahoma City. Quilting & Shop Hopping is something I enjoy sharing with my wife & sister. I should show you my quilt from last year. I lost because of no binding. I like the clean edge from turning it, but my first lesson last year was you lose a lot of points if you don’t have a binding to judge. As you see, a person can learn a lot from activities with other quilters.
Most of this quilt was made with challenge fabrics but I added the wood grain fabric to construct the rocker, clear table plastic for the window glass, silver lame’ for the metal window frame & wind chimes, and a dark fabric t-shirt iron-on to put my grand-daughter in the window on top of black Fairy Frost (magical). The butterflies, flowers, & leaves are applied on top. It was a great idea, I just didn’t do that well with the quilting & no binding.
I’m now working on a monochromatic blue Dresden plate queen size quilt between other projects. It’s looking really good . Maybe you’ll see that one too someday. I should write a book, yes? I should live so long.
I do thank your staff for their encouragement . You work for a nice magazine with a good website. My budget doesn’t allow a lot of magazines but yours is one of my favorites. I’m always looking for good ideas.
