Quilting in the New York Times

We love it when quilting (or a quilt shop) receives well-deserved press coverage from mainstream media. And, even better when it’s a neighbor! That’s right, Quilt magazine’s main offices are just a short walk (hello, lunch hour shopping!) from the City Quilter, a well-stocked resource and, as the Times says, ”the heart of New York’s quilting community.” This midtown Manhattan shop carries more than 4,000 bolts of fabric and offers more than 50 classes per year, catering to locals and out-of-town visitors alike. It also recently opened in art quilt gallery, featuring gorgeous works or quilted art. Check out the link below to read the article from the October 2nd edition of the New York Times, and be sure to click on the slide show link on the article page to get a peek inside the shop.

Congratulations on the accolades, City Quilter!

About the Author: Lisa Swenson Ruble

I made my first quilt when I graduated from college and realized that I needed a hobby to fill all those hours that used to be dedicated to homework! Eleven years later, I'm completely addicted to quilting and thrilled that my day job as the managing editor for Quilt, Simple Quilts & Sewing and Quilt Almanac allows me to "play" with quilts and the friendly world of quilters!
